Designed in New Zealand for New Zealand conditions. The heat pump head sits on top of the cylinder as one integrated unit, installed outdoors. Rinnai quote a 7 year cylinder and 5 year heat pump warranty on this range, and there is a service network behind it — which is what you are paying for over the Haier at the same capacity.

Commercial installs get less. The figures above are for a single family dwelling. Renting the house out does not change that, and neither brand decides it by who lives there. What does change it is the use, or one cylinder serving more than one dwelling: a salon, a catering kitchen, a care facility, a block of flats on a single cylinder. In those cases the manufacturer's cover drops to 3 year cylinder, 3 years on the head unit and parts, 1 year labour.

The labour cover depends on who installs it. Manufacturers only honour it when the cylinder was connected by a licensed plumber. We are one, so if we fit it the full warranty stands.
